Bio & Credit List
From the church to the GRAMMYs. A career built on precision, passion, and an unshakeable ear.
Carrington Brown is a GRAMMY-stage musical director, producer, executive producer, A&R consultant, and multi-instrumentalist whose career spans the highest echelons of the music industry. Known by many as "Buckets," he has built a reputation as the go-to musical director for artists who demand excellence on the world's biggest stages.
Born and raised with music as his foundation, Carrington first sat behind a drum kit on a church stage at age two. What began as a calling quickly became a craft. By the time he earned a full scholarship to Berklee College of Music, he had already developed the musical intuition and work ethic that would define his career.
As an official member of the H.E.R. Collective, Carrington has performed at the GRAMMY Awards every time H.E.R. has taken the stage — making him a fixture on music's biggest night. He is a 2x GRAMMY participant winner, including a participation certificate for H.E.R.'s Song of the Year, "I Can't Breathe." Beyond the GRAMMYs, he has performed at the Academy Awards (Oscars), the ESPYs, Billboard Music Awards (multiple), BET Awards (multiple), and the MTV Video Music Awards.
His creative partnership with Teyana Taylor produced some of the most critically acclaimed work of both their careers. Carrington served as Executive Producer on her GRAMMY-nominated album Escape Room, contributed production to VII, and has been her Musical Director through arena tours, the 2025 BET Awards, and late-night television including The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.
In 2025, Carrington became the Musical Director for Lil Baby and NBA YoungBoy, directing all live performances, touring, and production for two of hip-hop's biggest acts, including appearances on The Tonight Show. He simultaneously holds Musical Director positions for GloRilla, Fridayy (the GRAMMY-winning vocalist behind "God Did"), and Keyshia Cole (The Way It Is 20th Anniversary Tour).
His musical direction for Latto has brought precision and energy to one of rap's most dynamic live performers. Across every engagement, Carrington's approach is the same: elevate the artist's vision, push the boundaries of what a live show can be, and leave nothing on the table.
A dual AFM / SAG-AFTRA member and endorsed by Yamaha Drums and Sabian Cymbals, ProMark, Evans & Roland, Carrington's sound has been shaped at the intersection of gospel, R&B, hip-hop, and soul. His earlier career saw him touring with Jordan Knight (NKOTB), K. Michelle, Dej Loaf, and Justine Skye. He operates not just as a musician, but as a bandleader, creative director, and strategic partner to every artist he works with. His ear is his edge. His precision is his signature. His energy is what turns a good show into an unforgettable one.
